EPA Web Page Describing the New Regualtion
On October 11, 2006 the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) finalized the Ground Water Rule. This regulation is designed to provide greater protection for drinking water systems, such as Matawan, that draw their drinking water supply from ground water sources by requiring those systems to identify any deficiencies that may lead to a contamination of the supply. Further information about this new regulation may be obtained from the EPA’s web site: http://www.epa.gov/safewater/disinfection/gwr/basicinformation.html
